AIS is committed to ensuring the privacy of all our users. This Privacy Policy governs all pages on the AIS Website run by Coordinator of AIS. It does not apply to pages hosted by other organisations, including the websites of other organisations listed in the Links. The AIS Website may be linked to the websites of such other parties but those other sites may have their own privacy policies which apply to them.
By using the AIS Website you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy. AIS may change the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time and if such changes are made, we may place notices on the AIS Website so that you can be aware of them. 2. What types of information do we collect and store?
The type and amount of information we receive and store depends on how you use the AIS Website. You can access most of the pages on the AIS Website without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. Our web servers collect anonymous logs during user visits to the AIS Website. This information is used to create aggregate statistics, for example about when the AIS Website is accessed, the pages which refer visitors to the AIS Website, the type of web browsers visitors use and which pages are viewed. These statistics help us understand how the AIS Website is used and provide us with valuable information for improving it in the future. We do not collect personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, phone number or e-mail address) on the AIS Website unless you choose to provide it, for example by choosing to join AIS or donating to it. Personal details you submit through the AIS Website are kept confidential and are stored securely only for as long as they are required for the purpose for which they were given. The information you provide will not be sold or rented nor will it be shared with third parties unless we have your permission, or are required to disclose the information by law or under the following circumstances:
a) Hosting and processing: the AIS Website is hosted by a third-party service provider. We may also use third parties either to process expressions of interest to join AIS, process donations to AIS on our behalf or process and forward mailing information for users who choose to subscribe to our email updates. All of these third party services providers will process your personal information only on AIS’ behalf and are bound by strict confidentiality conditions.
b) Payment processing and fraud: Your card details may be disclosed to banks to arrange payments. In the case of a suspected fraudulent transaction, your details may be disclosed for the sole purpose of performing further checks.
3. How do we use information collected?
Your e-mail address and other personal information will be retained by AIS and its service providers in a secure environment, and will only be used to process your donations to AIS, and to send you email updates where you subscribe to them. Processing of your information by AIS is regulated by Australian data privacy law and protected by appropriate security measures.
5. Access to your personal information
You may have rights of access to personal information that we hold about you, to correct that information or, in some circumstances, to object to our processing of your information, under data privacy law. If you wish to exercise any of these rights or have any questions about this policy, please e-mail us.
