The Fahan School, an independent girls school in Hobart, Australia, accepted the AIS as one of their charities and pledged to raise $5,000. On 11 December, the school invited AIS Coordinator, Ikram Naqvi, to speak at their assembly and accept the cheque.
Amsterdam Half Marathon
Kamal Naqvi of London and Joel Rache of the Hague raised $6,650 for the AIS by running in the Amsterdam half marathon on 20 October 2014 despite injuries. Many thanks to them for their fantastic effort.

Fundraising Dinner
Fundraising dinner on 3rd April 2016 was very successful both in enjoyment and financially. We should be able to do a lot more cataract operations. Thanks to all those who worked so hard, particularly Rehan Jafrey for his brilliant singing. Thanks to Indian businesses who gave $50 vouchers for food. These include Annapurna,Namaskar,Magic Curry,Taj Palace, Soup Stop and The Spice House shop.
Fundraising Dinner
The AIS held a fundraising dinner in the Annapurna restaurant in Hobart, on 6 April 2014. The event raised $10,009. The AIS thanks Virendar and Celeste, the generous owners of the venue. The success of the auction part of the event was due to the generous donation of paintings by many of Tasmania’s foremost artists including Tom Samek, Richard Bacon, Max Angus and Patricia Giles. Every painting auctioned was sold and the bidding was spirited as the buyers knew the paintings were both beautiful and valuable assets to own and that the AIS eye camps and scholarships are such worthwhile causes.
